We are very much aware and respectful of the Government’s message last night that all UK citizens and businesses must play their part to protect the most vulnerable in our society and to ensure that the NHS has the ability to care for the inevitable increased number of patients that will be affected by the virus in the coming days and weeks.
As a family business, the health and wellbeing of our customers, our teams and our local communities are close to our heart, and in these times of great uncertainty, we need to do the right thing for them by mitigating the potential spread of the coronavirus.
As a ‘non-essential’ business we have therefore taken the very difficult decision to temporarily close Letterfest HQ from 5 pm on Wednesday 25th March until further notice. This will mean all our products (illustrations, art prints and terracotta pots) that are made in our studio in North Devon will go out of stock for a period of time. We are still creating and sending our personalised children’s books for the time being as these are manufactured using automation and machinery that would not compromise the wellbeing of our customers and staff.
You, our customers, are exceptional and we know you will understand, following last night’s announcement from the Prime Minister, that we have no other option but to take this action. Letterfest has been providing little personalised moments of joy to our wonderful and supportive customers for over 10 years and it goes against everything in our nature to scale back the business in this way, albeit temporarily. But these aren't normal times and we find ourselves in the unique situation where closing our studios, for the time being, is the right and only thing to do for our customers, our colleagues and our communities.
We will be contacting our customers today who have orders placed with us to discuss these with you
We thank you for your loyal support and understanding in these exceptional circumstances and look forward to welcoming you back soon.
