Letterfest is the creation of graphic designer, Wendy Harrison. Obsessed with typography, letterforms and new ways of displaying type in your home as a decoration or unique keepsake, I have designed a range of gifts that are created to order, personalised with your details to make each one unique.
The range includes art prints using fonts I have created inspired by illuminated type and vintage letterpress; handstamped wooden pendants and handcut gift tags; and pebble keepsakes inspired by the natural landscape of the North Devon beaches. Taking the traditional stone engraving craft, I've updated the process by engraving pebbles and slate tiles with contemporary, stylish type - creating unique organic decor items and personalised mementos.
The stones I use are river pebbles, eroded smooth and flat from years on the river bed. They are brought from a landscaping company in the South East and because they are not man-made they may contain imperfections like small chips, fissures & cracks, mottling, colour blemishes and fine grey thread lines and they will vary in size, shade, shape and texture. We have taken a rough, organic product and left it in its natural state, engraving the type like a stamp in the stone.
